Welcome to the 2nd Sendai Balboa Festival! Join us in the "City of Trees", Sendai, to learn, dance, and connect with people from all over the world. 世界的に有名なスウィングダンスインストラクターのデイヴィッド・リーム＆ケイト・ヘディンを迎え、 杜の都・仙台でバルボアを学び踊り世界中の人と交流を楽しむワークショップ&パーティーイベント。
Sendai Swing Club proudly presents the second edition of the Sendai Balboa Festival — an international dance event held in Japan's "City of Trees." By day, enjoy an intensive Balboa workshop led by the world's top instructors, Kate Hedin and David Rehm. By night, dance and mingle at our social parties featuring DJ music. This is a non-competitive, social-only event.
仙台スウィングクラブが誇るSendai Balboa Festival。杜の都・仙台で開催される 国際的なダンスイベントの第二回目。昼間には、バルボア界のトップインストラクターであるデイヴィッドとケイトを迎え、昼間は集中ワークショップ、 夜はDJでバルボアを踊り交流を楽しむソーシャルパーティーを開催します。コンペはありません。
All workshops include Japanese interpretation. Come spend a weekend fully immersed in Balboa, enjoying the beautiful city of Sendai and its incredible food!
全てのワークショップに日本語の通訳がつきます。仙台の街やグルメを楽しみながらバルボア三昧の週末を過ごしてください。

Balboa / Lindy Hop
ケイト・ヘディン
For nearly 20 years, Kate has been teaching Balboa and Lindy Hop around the world, holding champion titles in virtually every major Balboa competition on the modern scene. As an educator, she focuses on pedagogy, the mechanics of lead/follow as a form of expression, and empowering followers to express themselves as part of the holistic dance. She produced a groundbreaking DVD on Balboa follower technique and aesthetics, and publishes online lessons at onlinebalboa.com. She currently serves as a judge at numerous competitions and is a highly popular DJ.
Beyond dance, Kate is also a Twitch streamer focused on video games as art, education, entertainment, and community. She holds a degree in viola performance and has talents spanning classical music, aerial trapeze, and gaming. In her own words: "Don't be scared of the asymmetrical hair — feel free to ask me anything!"
20年近くにわたり、世界中でバルボアとリンディホップを教え、現代のバルボアシーンにおけるほぼすべての主要な大会でチャンピオンのタイトルを保持している。教育者としては、教育学、表現方法としてのリード/フォローのメカニズム、そして総合的なダンスの一部としてフォロワーが表現することに注力。これまでに、バルボアフォロワーのテクニックとエステティック（見た目の美しさ）に関する画期的なDVDを作成。また、onlinebalboa.comでオンラインレッスンも公開。現在、多くの大会で審査員をするほか、DJとしても非常に人気が高い。
ダンス以外では、芸術、教育、エンターテイメント、人間関係としてのビデオゲームに焦点を当てたTwitchストリーマーとしても活動。ダンス、クラシック音楽（ヴィオラの学位を取得）、空中ブランコ、ビデオゲームと様々な分野に才能を発揮。ケイト本人から「非対称の髪に怖がらず、何でも聞いてください」とメッセージ。
Balboa / Lindy Hop
デイヴィッド・リーム
A professional dance instructor specializing in Lindy Hop and Balboa. Widely recognized as one of the world's top Balboa dancers and instructors, David has been invited to teach across North America, Europe, and Asia for over 20 years. Many of today's leading Balboa dancers have studied under him, and he is a key figure who helped create the wave that led to the Balboa revival and boom. He is also the founder and director of The Experiment, known as "the world's most effective small-group intensive Balboa/Blues workshop."
Beyond dance, David lectures on diverse topics including electric micro-mobility, VR & AR technologies, philosophy of knowledge, pedagogy, and advocacy for autism, aphantasia, and SDAM awareness. An avid gamer, he also speaks on gaming culture and video games as an art form.
リンディーホップとバルボアを専門とするプロのダンスインストラクター。世界的なトップバルボアダンサーおよびインストラクターの1人として広く認められており、20年以上にわたって北米、ヨーロッパ、アジア全域にインストラクターとして招致されてきた。近年ダンスシーンの表舞台で活躍する多くのバルボアダンサーがデイヴィッドに師事しており、バルボアのリバイバルやブームにつながる潮流を作った重要人物でもある。そして現在、世界で最もバルボア/ブルースを習得できる少人数型の集中ワークショップ」として知られるThe Experimentの創設者兼ディレクターでもある。
ダンス以外でも、電気超小型モビリティやVR & ARと言った様々なテクノロジー、言語、知識哲学、教育学の融合のほか、自閉症、アファンタジア、SDAMなど精神疾患に対する公教育と擁護活動など、さまざまな特殊分野について精力的に講演。また、自身が熱心なゲーマーであることからコンピューターゲームにも造詣が深く、ゲームカルチャーや芸術としてのビデオゲームをテーマに講演も行なっている。
Note: A separate ¥500 drink fee is collected at the door for Saturday and Sunday parties, regardless of pass type. なお、パスの種類に関わらず、土日のパーティーでは入り口で別途ドリンク代500円(現金のみ)をいただきます。
